As part of an official visit of the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić to the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Serbian Minister of Justice Nela Kuburović and the Azerbaijani Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Judicial Matters between the two countries today in Bakuu. According to the signed Memorandum, the two Justice Ministries will cooperate in matters within their competencies, exchange experiences and practices for the purpose of harmonising the national legislation with international standards, including in providing international legal assistance in civil and criminal law matters.

In addition, the parties agreed to cooperate to develop the e-Judiciary, modernise the judicial system, educate and train the judicial administration staff, promote judicial professions and exchange experiences in reforming and modernising the execution of penal sanctions in accordance with international standards. Cooperation in other areas of mutual interest will also be facilitated through exchanges of information and experiences between the Serbian Ministry of Justice and the Azerbaijani Ministry of Justice, including organisation of working meetings of experts and delegation visits.

The implementation of the Memorandum will contribute to the further advancement of the two countries’ relations and their economies’ faster growth.
